Mira’s Minis began as an idea - What if I made smaller, bite-sized baked goods that are tasty, fun to eat, and can be shared with ease? Previously, I had thoroughly enjoyed baking my entire life as it became my biggest hobby and passion, but I always wondered if I could do something more with it. As a freshman in high school, the idea of starting a small business seemed daunting and unlikely. However, with continued rumination, the support of my family, friends, and community, I began to take small, but important steps that got me closer to my goal. With Food Safety classes and ServSafe certification at the Johnson County Community College, experimenting with different flavors and miniaturization, and debuting my first stand at my school, this little idea evolved into a reality.

After the process of gathering a logo, packaging, creating a website, making business cards, and launching my social media, the Mira’s Minis business really took off. My community who have raved about the delicious miniature items they can’t wait to try again can now order items online for shipping, or request catering for special events! Now, it brings me joy that my goods and services can reach others all over the Kansas City area.

Although the road to get to where I am today was extremely bumpy, and was not easy for a young high school student balancing school life with business life, but I am so thankful to my community for supporting me the entire way. Whether it be as taste tasters, promoters of the business, or promising to purchase goods down the line, the Kansas City community truly brought the Mira’s Minias dream to life, and I can’t thank it enough.
